Rolland E. Lemieux, Sr., 87, of Fort Covington, NY., passed away Tuesday evening, February 7, 2017, at C.V.P.H. in Plattsburgh, NY., with his loving family by his side.
Born in Malone, NY., April 30, 1929, he was the son of the late Albini and Mary Heinault Lemieux. He attended local schools.
On August 7, 1955, he was united in marriage to the former Agatha Rivers. She predeceased him on December 24, 2000.
Rolland had a long working career including being a dairy farmer for many years, he was employed by Reynolds Metals in Massena, NY in the maintenance department, worked construction and operated his own logging business, cutting and selling firewood and fence posts. He retired several years ago.
His favorite times were spent in the woods, gardening and feeding and watching his many feathered friends.
Survivors include two sons, John Lemieux of Fort Covington, NY., and Steven Lemieux of Dickinson Center, NY., two daughters and sons in law, Marie and Jim Auen of Green Bank, WA., and Sally and Douglas Villnave of Westville, NY., one brother and sister in law, Maurice and Linda Lemieux of Winthrop, NY., one sister, Theresa Brockway, eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by three sons, Rick, Rolland, Jr., and Wayne Lemieux and one sister, Yvette St. Mary.
There are no calling hours. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the old St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Fort Covington, NY., in the Spring.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc. in Malone, NY.
