Obituary of Grace B. Gravelle

~Grace B. Gravelle, 98, of Malone, NY., passed away early Wednesday morning, November 15, 2017, at the U.V.M. Health Care Network Alice Hyde Medical Center, in Malone, NY., with her loving daughter, Cheryl Learned by her side.
   Born in White Plains, NY., November 29, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Grace Meldrum Buckley. She graduated from Katonah High School.
   On June 7, 1941, she was united in marriage to Augustine “Gus” Gravelle in Carmel, NY. He predeceased her on March 1, 1992.
   For more than thirty seven years, Grace was employed by Farm Credit in Malone, NY. She retired as a Loan Officer in 1985.
   She was a communicant of St. Andre Bessette Parish at Notre Dame Church in Malone, NY. She was a member of the Malone Catholic Daughters, Malone Business and Professional Women and the Ladies Star Bowling League.
   Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Learned of Malone, NY., two granddaughters, Susan Learned of Richmond, VA. And Alison Powlin and her husband Scott of Cicero, NY., two great granddaughters, Alexandria Powlin and her fiancée Thomas Bidwell of Phoenix, NY., and Lindsay Powlin of Cicero, NY.
   Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Donald Akey and Marie and Charles Yurista.
   Calling hours will be Saturday from 9 until 9:30 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, in Malone. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone.
   Donations may be made in her memory to either the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country or to the Franklin County House of History both in Malone, NY.
