Obituary of John E. Malark
John E. Malark, 75, of Moira, NY., passed away early Thursday morning, May 10, 2018, in Malone, NY., while under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.
Born in Constable, NY., February 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Dennis and Rita Rasco Malark. He attended local schools.
On October 31, 1964, he was united in marriage to the former Janet Lauzon at St. Mary’s Church, in Fort Covington, NY. She predeceased him on December 7, 2015.
John was a “Jack of all Trades”. He had worked as a farm mechanic for James Manley, prior to that he had owned his own farm and mechanic shop and was a certified welder. He also sold firewood and worked for the Town of Chateaugay as a mechanic and truck driver. He retired several years ago.
He was a past member of the Malone Lodge of Moose. He enjoyed being outside working on his lawn. His most precious moments were spent with his family especially his grand and great grandchildren. He had a contagious laugh that could be heard by everyone, if he was at a family function or at a bar having a beer with friends.
Survivors include three daughters, Jennifer Wood and her companion, Wayne Deshane of Westville, NY., Judy Smith of Constable, NY., and Julie Allen and her companion, Kevin Belile of Moira, NY., two sons-in-law, Thomas Wood of Malone, NY., and Jody L. Smith of Constable, NY., two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Arthur and Nancy Malark of Chateaugay, NY., and Donald “Skylark” and Marge Marlark of Westville, NY., and Carolyn Malark of Burke, NY., three sisters and a brother in law, Theresa Viau of Fort Covington, NY., Barbara and Peter Paul of Wadesville, IN., and Sharon Spinner of Alburg, VT., eight grandchildren, Keishe Smith, Kaela Bonsteel, Kodey and Kagen Smith, Melissa and Morgan Wood, Logan Allen and Layden Belile, ten great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by one brother, William Malark and one sister Judy Malark in infancy.
A funeral Service will be held on Monday May 21, 2018 at Noon, at the Brushton-Moira American Legion. A reception and celebration of life will follow until 2 p.m.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc.
