Muriel E. "Peggy"  Bushey, 92, of Malone, NY., passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, May 22, 2018, at her home, while under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.

Born in Malone, NY., September 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Floyd J. and Gertrude Ridgeway Hayle. She graduated from Franklin Academy in 1944.

On July 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Homer W. Bushey at St. Joseph’s Church, in Malone, NY. He predeceased her in 1999.

For more than thirty one years Muriel was a housekeeper for both Dr. Alfred A. Hartmann Sr. and Dr. Alfred A. Hartmann, Jr. She retired in 1996.

She enjoyed baking, especially pies, she also enjoyed puzzles and word games. Her most precious times were spent with family especially her grand and great grandchildren. Peggy was a very loving, giving and caring woman to her family and friends. She was always ready to help anyone in need.

Survivors include one son, Floyd J. Bushey and his companion, Connie Whisenhunt of Fort Smith, AR., five daughters and four sons-in-law, Jane and Gary Verdow of Fairport, NY., Janice and Charles Alexander of Tavares, FL., Cheryl and Stephen Fitzpatrick of Malone, NY., Deborah and Timothy Crippen of Burke, NY., and Connie Manley and her companion, Kevin Yaddow of Malone, NY., thirteen grandchildren, Jeremy Bushey, Shelley Tengvall, Jamie Halbrook, David Friedman, Tammy Salcedo, Sarah Fitzpatrick Shouldice, Mark Fitzpatrick, Emily Fitzpatrick, Denise Clanton, Lisa Pickreign, Joshua Crippen, Merrick and Matthew Manley, nineteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also had a very close family friend of more than fifty five years, Neaska St. Mary of Malone, NY.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Michael Hayle, four brothers, Walter, Robert, Harold and Carroll Hayle, two sisters, Dorothy Russell and Marion Richards and one granddaughter, Mandy Manley.

Calling hours will be Friday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Morningside Cemetery, in Malone, NY.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc. in Malone, NY.
