Obituary of Charles Watson Duffy, Sr.
Charles Watson " Chuck" Duffy, Sr., 65, of Merrill, NY., passed away early Saturday morning, June 2, 2018, at C.V.P.H., with his loving family by his side.
Born in Malone, NY., April 2, 1953, he was the son of the late John and Dorothy Conto Duffy. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Malone, NY., in 1971.
Chuck was a stunt driver with the Hell Drivers for two seasons. For ten years , he was employed by Johnson Painting in Malone. From 1988 until his retirement in 2009, he was employed by the New York State Department of Corrections at the Franklin Correctional Facility in Malone, and later for the Lyon Mountain Correctional Facility in Lyon Mountain, NY.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 219, in Malone, NY. He was an avid fisherman and fished in many tournaments. He enjoyed motorcycles, muscle cars and refinishing gun stocks.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Julie Yando Duffy Hutchins of Malone, NY., one son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Sindy Duffy, Jr. of Cortland, NY., one daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Cory Maneely of Malone, NY., two brothers and a sister-in-law, John Duffy, III. and Frank and Lillian Anderson Duffy all of Malone, NY., one sister, Patricia “Took” Duffy of Malone, NY., five grandchildren, Aiyana, Preston, Paxton, Scarlet, and Whitney Duffy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
