I was so sorry to hear of Cappy's death. He was a great man who contributed much to his community and the fire department. I remember as a child looking up to him. What a great role model. Bev, I am thinking of you and your family. What a wonderful man, husband, and father he was!

My sincerest condolences, thoughts, and prayers for the Cappiello family. I only have known Cappy for about 15 years, and have always been amazed by his energy and dedication to the fire service. There is nowhere you can go in the fire community and not get a smile when his name is mentioned. A fond memory for all.
I apologize for not being there in person as my current schedule is limited.
My best to you and the brothers and sisters in his extensive fire service community.
Brian LaFlure, Director/Fire Coordinator
Warren County Office of Emergency Services

Hello, my name is Rebecca. I am from the Potsdam area, and I wanted to say to the friends and family of Elton Cappiello, that I am very sorry for your loss. I also wanted to share a little word of encouragement.
There is a lovely scripture that always helped me through difficult times. It's found in2 Corinthians 1:3,4, “Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.”
It’s nice to know that we can always rely on God to bring us comfort. Thank you for reading this.

We owned the Sears catalog store in Massena in the 70/80 and had the pleasure of knowing Cappy. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix which always amazed me. He was such a pleasure to work with and easy going. He always had a smile and a kind word. He will be missed by all who knew him. Our deepest condolences are with the family.

Bev, Kevin, and family,
I am very sorry to hear of Cappy's passing. I have so many fond memories of him from the 50's, 60's and 70's having spent so much time around him. He was always ready to play ball with Kevin and I and was always at ball games whenever we played. He had such a great smile and was very good at cracking a joke or teasing everyone. He had so much energy and really cared so much for his family. God bless you Cappy and you are in my prayers and Carol's prayers.

Cappiello Family: While the rest of the world carries on as though nothing has happened, remember that others know your world will never be the same. Day after healing day, when you might think people have forgotten, we'll still be caring about you. May God fill your heart and mind with wonderful memories to bring relief to your grief.

This takes me back to St. Regis Falls when Cappy was always going to my father-in-laws, Ira Trotter, home to fix the furnace. They became good friends and my husband got to know him also!! He was a very loving and caring man.
When we moved to Massena we would run into him and he always know who we were. Then we meant his daughter Jill through basketball and would see him at games.
He will be sadly missed by all who know him!!!

Many, many, many fine memories about my "Second Dad". What a great person to be associated with. One of the best bosses, a person could have at "Fire Control". His legacy is a long one and one that will not be surpassed, any time soon.
My condolences and prayers to the family.
Rest In Peace, Cappy.
