Obituary of Sylvia Durkee

Sylvia Durkee, 80, of Fort Covington, NY., passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019, at the U.V.M. Health Network Alice Hyde Medical Center, in Malone, NY.

Born in Lyon Mountain, NY., April 8, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Delima Secore Collins.

On June 30, 1961, she was united in marriage to Karl Durkee at the Chateaugay United Methodist Church, in Chateaugay, NY. He predeceased her on August 29, 2013.

Sylvia was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Durkee of London, England and Gerald Durkee of Fort Covington, NY., one brother, Ronald Collins of Cadyville, NY., four grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by five brothers, Robert, Donald, Bernard, David and Maynard Collins and three sisters, Violet Dibble, Geraldine Dashnaw and Anna Lashway.

Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Donations may be made in her memory to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
