Obituary of Rita M. Hence

   Rita M. Hence, 83, of Fort Covington, NY., passed away, Monday, May 13, 2019, at the U.V.M. Health Center, in Burlington, VT. She had been a patient there since May 12.
   Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, November 27, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Triffle and Ida Beaudin Bouchard.
   Rita was a custodian at Salmon River Central School, in Fort Covington, NY., for many years. She retired in 1993.
   She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, in Fort Covington, NY., and was a member of the Fort Covington Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing cards and decorating her home for the holidays. She cherished her time spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
   On April 24, 1954, she was united in marriage to Paul Hence in Huntingdon, Quebec, Canada. He predeceased her on September 16, 1994. 
    Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Alan Cree of Hogansburg, NY., one sister, Jeannine Derouchie of Santa Clara, CA., four grandsons, Jason Cree and his companion, Tricia McCormick, Jeremy Cree and his wife, Tiffany, Justin Cree and his wife, Melissa and Jonathan Cree and his wife, Tasha, ten great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
   Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Ann Hence in 1979, one sister, Gerry Brown and one grandson, Paul Hence.
   Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at St. Mary’s Church, in Fort Covington, from 10-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Church, with Deacon Brian Dwyer officiating. Burial will be in the old St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Fort Covington, NY.
   Donations may be made in her memory to the Fort Covington Volunteer Fire Department or to the E.M.S, Inc. in Fort Covington, NY.
