I remember meeting Mrs Gareau at Kelsey’s wedding. My daughter was with me and we both had such lovely conversations with her. She had a wonderfully kind and fun heart. I will remember her with a beautiful smile and a twinkle in her eyes. Rest well xxx love Shauna.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Jennifer, Brian and the Family of June. I haven't known June for a long time, but she made you feel like you knew her for a lifetime. She was a very special lady with the biggest heart I have ever seen. She touched me in a special way. I think everyone that came in contact with her would say the same thing. I know your family is going through difficult times. You have been in my prayers and will continue to be in my prayers
I am so glad I got to see her the week before her passing. She gave me that special smile and a beautiful hug.
Thank you June for that. I will love you always and I will keep you in my prayers. Linda

Junie was the kindest soul I have ever met. She loved her family, her community and God in the purest way I have ever witnessed.
She was quick to say "I love you" and eager to hear "all the goings-on" as she would call updates and tidbits about things happening in and around her circle of friends, which was vast.
The last time I heard from her, she FaceTimed me. I was having a particularly hard day after losing my grandfather earlier this month. I picked up my phone and saw her beautiful face on my screen. She told me how she and Roger always saw my grandparents out and about eating at a local diner. She said how much she admired my grandfather and wanted to express her condolences to me. At the end of the conversation, she teared up and told me she loved me. That was Junie. She cared about people and felt their joys and their sadness. She was unashamed in her tears and quick with a laugh.
Junie could be a great sounding board and was good about giving advice in her own gentle way. It was understood in our conversations whether she thought I was going in the right direction, but she never made me feel defensive, or hurt if she disapproved. She was always compassionate and caring.
She embodied joy. Earlier this spring, she was in the Alice Center rehabilitation wing. I had dressed up as a Viking and joined some others in our play-acting as Vikings. I went to Junie's room in a Viking hat, carrying a mace (made from a Garden Weasel) and a shield (made from a pizza pan). Junie just looked at me and laughed and posed for a picture with me. It is a photo I treasure.
We lost someone who lived her life in wonder and innocence when we lost June Gareau, but Heaven regained a saint that the Lord deigned fit to live among us. I am certain the angel chorus resounded on the day she passed from our world to theirs as they sang, "Welcome Home, June."

I loved that June cared for my daughter Lynne Ann Genaway the year I especially needed child-care after all-day Kindergarten at Brushton NY. She could walk to June’s until her Daddy, Bob Genaway could pick her up. It was a great help to me, & June was so comfortable in care-giving, her strength.
I’m sorry for your loss & pray comfort for you as you reunion together. You are blessed.

June, like my mom and dad was a life long Brushton resident. Everyone in town knew June, Roger their children, and June’s parents. She served her Lord, family and community well.... having lived away from
Brushton for nearly 20 years, when I returned in 1988 with my infant daughter, June reached out and welcomed us home with open arms... my daughters dad had passed suddenly and going home was where I wanted/needed to be. June became a special person in my life and my daughter Erica’s life.. she became our family too, as both she and Roger through their friendship with my family, became our adopted family. I love and will miss you, June... we all have a special angel watching over us!
