Obituary of Stephen S Nesbitt

Stephen S. Nesbitt, 84, Of North Bangor, NY., passed away on Thursday, February 27th, 2020 at the University of Vermont Health Network, Alice Hyde Medical Center, in Malone, NY. Born in Malone on September 15th, 1935, he was the son of the late Clarence Nesbitt and Odessa Grant Nesbitt. Stephen attended local schools and served in the Army Reserves from 1955-1964. He was employed at George Dufrane Auto in Constable, NY. as a mechanic, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed playing cards and sequence, hiking, fishing, hunting, cook-outs, camp fires, watching the news and family outings. He also had a great love of coffee. He is survived by his companion of thirty years, Freda “Jo” Porter of Bangor, NY.; 4 sons, Michael Duffy of Pennsylvania, Stephen Nesbitt, Jr. of Duane, NY., Scott Nesbitt of North Bangor and Thomas Nesbitt of Malone; one daughter, Juella Nesbitt of Pennsylvania; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, David Nesbitt and his companion Barb Fleury of Malone and Clarence and Maxine Nesbitt of Malone; one sister, Gladys Summers of Malone, and his eight grandchildren; Ashley Nesbitt of St. Regis Falls, Destiny Nesbitt of Bombay NY., Kaddy Nesbitt of Nicholville,NY., Serenity Nesbitt of Owls Head NY., Taylor Nesbitt of North Bangor, Thomas Nesbitt, Jr. of North Bangor, Jennifer Porter of North Bangor and Samantha Porter of Duane. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Tony Nesbitt and a brother Edward Nesbitt. Calling Hours will be Wednesday, March 4th from 7-8pm at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone, NY. A funeral service will follow at 8pm in the funeral home chapel with The Reverend Billy Bond officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery in Malone, NY in the spring. Donations may be made in his memory to the Hastings Dialysis Center in Malone or the Cardiac Rehab at Alice Hyde Medical Center.
