Obituary of Beatrice I. Charland

Beatrice I. Charland, 92, of Malone, NY., passed away Tuesday night, March 17, 2020, at the Alice Center, in Malone, NY., with her loving family by her side. She had been a resident there since April 28, 2017. Born in Ellenburg, NY., June 26, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Viola Spoor Derosia. She attended Ellenburg schools. At one time she had worked at Tru-Stitch and later was a homemaker. She enjoyed home crafts, flower gardening, sewing and spending time with her family. On July 12, 1944, she was united in marriage to Gerald “Royal” Charland at St. Edmund’s Church, in Ellenburg, NY. He predeceased her on October 5, 1997. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Cheryl Charland of Bombay, NY., six daughters and five sons-in law; Gloria Charland of Glens Falls, NY., Sherry “Faye” and Joseph Carron of North Bangor, NY., Linda and Dennis Quiry of Shrewsbury, MA., Sharon and Raymond Gravel of Massena, NY., Violet and John “Jack” Lacroix of Malone, NY., and Kathy and Scott Spaulding of Malone, NY.; one sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Anothy Zempo of Pacolet, SC., many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents and husband, Beatrice was predeceased by her seven sisters Violet Perreault, Gilda Streeter, Pearl Wooden, Almeda “Fannie” Fuller, Yvonne Harrington, Marie Derosia and Margaret Gregory and a grandson Arlington Gardner. Calling Hours will be Saturday March 21, 2020, from 10 a.m. until noon, at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at noon in the Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be on Friday May 22, 2020, at 1 p.m., in St. Augustine’s Cemetery, in North Bangor, NY.
