Obituary of Steven J. Mitchell, Sr.

Steven J. Mitchell, Sr., 58, of Fort Covington, NY., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 10, 2020, at the U.V.M Health Network Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, NY., with his loving family by his bedside. Born in Malone, NY., on August 5, 1961, he was the son of Genevieve Trombley and his adopted parents Charles and Irene Roberts Mitchell. He attended local schools. Steve enjoyed collecting scrap metal, going to the casino and enjoying the outdoors. He favorite times were spent with his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his mother, Genevieve Trombley of Malone, NY., his adopted mother, Irene Mitchell of Port Orange, FL., his long time companion, Lisa Begin of Fort Covington, NY., three sons, Steven J. Mitchell, Jr. and his companion, Lillian Snyder of Malone, NY., Trevor Mitchell and his companion, Kellyn Garrand of Constable, NY., and Tyler Mitchell and his fiancée Vanessa Zwart of Chateaugay, NY., one daughter, Nadine Snyder and her husband, Mark of Constable, NY., three sisters, Gladys Trombley of Moira, NY., Maxine Smith of New York, NY., and Cheryl Stonecipher of Port Orange, FL., sixteen grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his adopted father, Charles Mitchell. A Celebration of his Life, will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at the family home, 69 Center Street, Fort Covington, NY., with the Rev. Roger Preve officiating.
