Dear Lillian and the Family of Leigh Anderson,
I was so sad to hear about the loss of Leigh. When I arrived in Buffalo, you were so kind to me Lillian. At that time, you were an Assistant Corporation Counsel. Then I met your sister, also an attorney!
Leigh fought hard for her clients. They respected her. I loved watching her in court. There weren’t many female litigators doing criminal defense in Buffalo at that time. She had intelligence, grace and style. She was no cookie cutter attorney. She was also very pro other female lawyers. Her attitude was confident and upbeat. That attitude rubbed off on everyone she encountered. I was lucky to know her. I will miss her. May she Rest In Peace until you see her again.

Leigh made me feel good when I ran into her. She was always cheerful and upbeat, which was unusual given the types of cases she worked on. When I was an Assistant District Attorney, Leigh uncovered very damaging information about my complainant, resulting in my dismissal of the case against her client. This was rarely done, but based on the evidence that Leigh dug up, it was necessary. She was a terrific advocate who fought hard for her clients. I was honored to know Leigh, and I am so sorry for your loss. She was truly an original person with a terrific personality who made a substantial contribution to the legal profession. Once we get back to Family Court, I know that I will miss running into Leigh, and seeing her wonderful smile.

To Leigh’s Family, I had the great pleasure of meeting Leigh in 1984. I was fresh out of Law School and Leigh was so welcoming and helpful! She was an extremely talented attorney and a truly wonderful person. She represented many lawyers in need in Buffalo and always did it out of the goodness of her heart. She always greeted you with a great big smile and made you feel special. What an incredible person. I am so sorry for your loss and I will miss her very much. Sincerely, Julie Dee

My heartfelt condolences to Leigh’s family. Since moving to Boston, whenever I came home to Buffalo, I always tried to catch Leigh at Mother’s Restaurant. As usual, I would just miss her. The last time I saw Leigh was at my dad’s funeral. She was so comforting and kind. I’ll always remember her chiding me and Bobby (Regan) about getting married. She wanted to know what the holdup was. She was such a wonderful human being and I feel honored to have known her. You will be truly missed. Love you always, my friend.
