Obituary of Joseph Z. Trippany

Joseph Z. Trippany, 89, of Brushton, NY., and formerly of North Bangor, NY., passed away Tuesday evening, January 17, 2017, at The Alice Center, in Malone, NY. He had been a resident there since December 29, 2016.
Born in Malone, NY., February 21, 1927, he was the son of the late Harrison and Hazel Pepper Trippany. He attended local schools.
On September 5, 1949, he was united in marriage to the former Helen Barton, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, in Constable, NY. She predeceased him on February 26, 1998.
Many years ago, Joe was employed at J.O. Ballard Company in Malone, NY. He later owned and operated a dairy farm in North Bangor, NY., for more than thirty years, retiring in 1961. In 1968, he was employed by the Franklin County Highway Department and retired in 1993.
He was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church, in North Bangor, NY. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Trumble of Brushton, NY., and Abbie Sorrell of Plattsburgh, NY., two nephews, Maurice and Michael Trippany of Malone, NY., and several other nieces and nephews, and his long time companion, Erma Fairchild of Brushton, NY.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by one brother, Lawrence Trippany and one sister, in infancy.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 23, 2017, at 11 a.m., at St. Augustine’s Church, in North Bangor, NY., with the Rev. Raymond Moreau officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine’s Cemetery, in North Bangor, NY., in the Spring.
Donations may be made in his memory to the North Bangor Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
