Cathy J. Johnson, 61, of Malone, NY., passed away unexpectedly, Monday, October 19, 2020, at the U.V.M. Health Network Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, NY, with her loving husband and family by her side.
Born in Malone, NY, April 15, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Patricia Reed Butchino. She graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone and received her degree in hairdressing and cosmetology.
She was a hairdresser for several years. She was a devout Christian, enjoyed studying the bible and was an active member of the Maranatha Bible Church. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
On May 18, 1985, she was united in marriage to Steven S. Johnson in Bellmont, NY. He survives.
Along with her husband, Steven, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Megan Johnson and her husband, Michael Fenner of Burke, NY, one stepson, Joshua Johnson of Malone, NY, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Steven and Helen Butchino of Malone, NY, and William Butchino of Watertown, NY, four sisters and brothers-in-law, Joanne and Jerry Valade of Watertown, NY, Mary and Kenneth Potmesil of Newman Grove, NE, Brenda and Mark Hanna of Malone, NY, and Barbara and Rick Rule of Westville, NY, five grandchildren, Matalini and Dustin Fenner and Kadence, Trinity and Taya Johnson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister Patty Butchino, at birth.
There are no calling hours. A Funeral Service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, in Malone, NY.
