Cana A. Robare, age 70, of Malone, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at her home with her loving family and Hospice of the North Country by her side.
Born in Malone on March 5, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Clare and Isabel Brugeon Taro.
She graduated from Franklin Academy, class of 1969, and then attended North Country College of Essex and Franklin.
On September 5, 1970, she married Richard “Dick” Robare at Notre Dame Church in Malone. He survives.
She had worked for the New York State Police, and then was employed by Franklin County for twenty-five years, retiring in 2009 as Senior Account Clerk.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her son; Kevin Robare of Malone, a daughter and son-in-law; Rene and Lee Braley of Malone; two sisters and their husbands; Sue and Thomas LaRocque of Malone and Mary and William Grant of Norwood, N.Y.
Cana enjoyed cooking, their pets and especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 219 in Malone.
Calling hours will be held at 11a.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at noon following calling hours at Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Cana’s name to Hospice of the North Country or the North Country Animal Shelter.
