Robin, Pete, and Girls: At the very center of all great families is a mother -- especially, one that becomes a grandmother. Mrs. T., one of my many 'grandmothers' in the Fort, often spoke a language of love that demonstrated she genuinely cared for us neighbor kids, her influence helped us form a foundation to carry ourselves based on respect, and she taught us lessons that will inspire for a lifetime. As painful and difficult today and the days ahead will be, I pray that God sends you comfort in the certainty that Mrs. T. will always be with you. Do know that all you shared together will forever be a part of your life and will be cherished memories.
