Obituary of James H. LaCombe

James Henry LaCombe, 83, of Malone, passed away on November 21, 2021 peacefully with his family by his side. James was born on January 20, 1938, in Fort Covington, NY., to Priscilla LeClair and Darwin LaCombe. As a young boy he enjoyed baseball and the Boston Red Sox. He attended Franklin Academy High School and was a graduate of Paul Smiths College. James married Josephine Maggioli on October 19, 1961 at St. Anthony’s Church in North Adams, Massachusetts. Josephine predeceased him on January 19, 2005. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his siblings- Kenneth LaCombe “in infancy”, Gerald Barney, George “Pie” Barney, Geraldine Butzer, and Robert LaCombe, Sr. Josephine and James are survived by a daughter, Dawn Soulieres whom is currently residing in Saratoga Springs. Along with his daughter he is survived by his sister, Charlene LaCombe Andrews of Malone and many nieces and nephews. His career consisted of a bell hop at the Flanagan Hotel (where he met the love of his life, Josephine), Endicott Johnson’s, and North Star Industries. James lived life with a positive attitude and a passion for poker- he enjoyed time with his poker player friends. Per his request there will be no calling hours. A Mass will be held on December 3, 2021 at noon at Notre Dame Church, 11 Church Place, Malone. Please feel free to attend the mass and pay respects to James at that time. Condolences to the family can be made to Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country as they are angel caregivers.
