Obituary of Gyneth P. Armstrong

Gyneth P. Armstrong, 98, of Westville, N.Y., passed away at her home on November 24, 2021, under the care of her children and Hospice of the North Country.
Born on June 1, 1923 in Constable, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late George and Pearl Brockway Badore.
On May 11, 1942, she married the late Robert W. Armstrong at the Westville Presbyterian Church. He predeceased Gyneth on June 27, 2001.
She graduated from Franklin Academy, Class of 1940, and was a homemaker and helped operate the family farm. From 1968-1978, she was the bookkeeper for Armstrong Dairy Equipment Sales and Service.
She was an Elder in the former Westville Presbyterian Church, and was their pianist and a member of its women’s groups. She was also a member of the Malone Women of the Moose, where she was Woman of the Year in 1984. She was also a charter member of the Westville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a past lecturer of the Westville Grange, a member of the Pomona and State Grange, member of the Seaway Valley Women’s Organization, where she was Woman of the Year in 1983, and was active in the Westville Republican party and a past president of the Westville Board of Elections.
Gyneth is survived by her three children, William Armstrong of Westville, Marilyn Armstrong of Westville and Karen Salisbury of Voorheesville, N.Y., as well as dozens of grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son John Armstrong, brothers Robert and Bernard Badore and her sister Jean Badore.
Calling Hour will take place from 12-1p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Billy Bond officiating. Burial will be in Briggs Street Cemetery in Westville.
