Obituary of Elizabeth J. Mainville

Elizabeth Jean Mainville of Fort Covington, affectionately known as Betty Jean to many, passed away peacefully December 26, 2021 at the University Of Vermont Medical Center. Betty was born March 13, 1929 to the late Ella and Earl Jackson. On April 3, 1951 she married Donald Mainville and they went on to raise two children Darlene and Darrell. Betty loved to cook, read and embroidery. Prior to retirement she kept a watchful eye over her sister Joyce's children Carol and Kenny. When she and Donald purchased Farquhar's Hardware in Fort Covington, she went from housewife to learning and running the store. Betty is survived by her husband of 70 years; her daughter Darlene (Dumper) Mainville of Massena and life partner Bonnie Hanna of Laguna Hills, Ca; son Darrell and wife Bobby of Fort Covington; grandson Amos his wife Kamilla and two great granddaughters Lisbeth and Savina; a sister Joyce Smith, brother Earl (Jr) Jackson and wife Shirley; sister in law Barbie Wood; many nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by brother in law James Smith and nephew Kenny Smith; brother in law Lyle Mainville; sister in law Janet Mainville; brother in law Francis Wood. Memorial contributions may be acknowledged with the Fort Covington Rescue Squad and the Fort Covington Helping Hands Food Pantry.
