Obituary of Arthur L. Demers
~ Arthur L. Demers, 73, of Constable, NY., passed away early Saturday morning, June 17, 2017, at C.V.P.H., in Plattsburgh, NY., with his loving family by his side. He had been a patient there since June 3.
Born in Constable, NY., July 19, 1943, he was the son of the late Patrick and Dollarena Amyotte Demers. He attended local schools.
For more than thirty years, Arthur was employed by Laborer’s Union 322 in Utica, NY. He retired in 1998.
On November 29, 1991, he was united in marriage to the former Marlene M. Bigness, in Constable, NY. She survives.
He was a past member of the Malone Lodge of Moose. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, caring for his lawn, and going to the casino. He will be missed by his faithful dogs.
Along with his wife, Marlene, he is survived by one son, Robert Demers and his companion, Sylvia Burdash of Moira, NY., four brothers and two sisters in law, Ronald and Betty Demers of Constable, NY., Gerald Demers and his companion, Barbara Curtis of Westville, NY., Rev. Richard Demers of Peru, NY., and James and Joan Demers of Constable, NY., three sisters and brothers in law, Sandra and Leonard Marlow of Mitchell, IN., Margaret “Peggy” and Ronald Casey, Sr., of Brushton, NY., and Shelley and Timothy Fleury of North Tonawanda, NY., two grandchildren, Zachary Demers and Delaney Durant and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until Noon, at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at Noon, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Richard Demers officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, in Constable, NY.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Constable Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
