Obituary of Ellen M. Gallagher

Malone-Ellen Marie (Wallace) Gallagher, 83, of Malone, N.Y., passed away on February 28, 2022 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY. Ellen was born on October 27, 1938 in south Boston, MA.,to Lucille (Barrett) Wallace and Robert Wallace, who predeceased her. She graduated from South Boston High School and continued her education at Whidden School of Nursing in Boston, graduating as a registered nurse. Ellen practiced private duty nursing at hospitals in the Boston area. In 1959, Ellen married Dr. Douglas Gallagher at Gate of Heaven Church in South Boston, MA. In 1960, she established a home in Malone, N.Y. and raised her four children. Ellen is survived by her husband, Dr. Douglas Gallagher of Malone, N.Y.; her daughter, Amy Gallagher, her sons, Brian Gallagher and Brendan Gallagher and partner, Michael Mischler; her grandchildren, Norah Gallagher and Dylan Gallagher, her sister, Florence Wallace, her brother, John Wallace and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ellen was predeceased by her son, Bret (Fr. Adrian) Gallagher, and her brothers, Robert Wallace and Adrian Wallace.
