Obituary of Kay E. Degon

~Kay E. Degon, 65, of Malone, NY., passed away early Tuesday morning, June 20, 2017, at The Alice Center, in Malone, NY. She had been a resident there since January 26, 2017.
   Born in Malone, NY. February 24, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Thelma Richards Degon. She graduated from Franklin Academy, in Malone, NY., in 1970.
   For three years, Kay was employed by the Kingston School District as a bus monitor aide. She later worked as a bus monitor aide for the Shenandoah School District for more than twenty years, retiring in 2008.
   On September 20, 1977, she was united in marriage to Edward McCormick in Ushers, NY. The marriage ended in divorce.
   She enjoyed sewing, dressmaking and home crafts.
   Survivors include one son Edward McCormick, II.,  of Albany, NY., one daughter, Shannon McCormick of Saratoga Springs, NY., one brother and sister in law, Ronald and Sherry Degon of Spanaway, WA., three sisters and brothers in law, Brenda and Marshall Gorrow of Hogansburg, NY., Sue Ann and Stephan Fielder of Liverpool, NY., and Pamela and Timothy Woods of Virginia, one granddaughter, Charlotte Handford of Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
   Along with her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Richard Degon and one sister Elaine Degon.
   There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 2 p.m., at the Maple Grove Cemetery, in North Lawrence, NY.
   Donations may be made in her memory to the Muscular Sclerosis Association.
