Kenneth Williams, age 80, of Fort Covington, N.Y., passed away at his home on August 7, 2022 with his loving family at his side and Hospice of the North Country providing care and services.
Ken was born on August 5, 1942 to the late Clarence and Myrtle Wood Williams in Westville, N.Y. He attended local schools and then enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country from 1960-1968. He later worked as a self-employed carpenter/remodeler in the Fort Covington area.
On September 5, 1964, he was wed to the late Judith Henault in a ceremony at St. Mary’s of the Fort Church in Fort Covington. She predeceased him.
Kenneth loved spending time with his grand-daughter, gardening, listening to classic country music, and was an avid Elvis fan.
Surviving Kenneth are his son Kenneth G. ( Suzanne ) Williams of Winthrop, N.Y., a daughter Lynn Steele of Fort Covington, three brothers, Donald, Vernon and Clarence Williams,sisters Joan Terrell and Diane Taylor, and a grand-daughter Brianna Williams.
Along with his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brothers Jerry, Phillip and Robert Williams, a half brother Gordon Wood, and his sisters Theresa Deshane and Rita Moore.
A calling hour will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. at Cappiello-McKenzie & Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington. A funeral service will take place at 11a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Billy Bond of St. Dismas Village Church officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Bombay, N.Y. with military honors provided by the Fort Covington American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Fort Covington E.M.S.
