Obituary of Donald R. Beaudin

Donald R Beaudin passed away with his wife by his side on Saturday October 29, 2022 at UVM in Burlington Vt. Donald was born in Fort Covington, NY on August 31, 1945 to the late John Paul Beaudin and Ethel Smith. He attended Salmon River before beginning a career in construction. He worked for several private companies before becoming a 1822 Union Member. He continued his construction career up until his retirement in 1999 and was a 52 year member of the 1822 Union. Donald was also a member of the Fort Covington Volunteer Fire Department and recently received his certificate for 45 Years of Service. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. At one time he was also in a Pool League and played for Jerry’s River Lounge and the Halfway House and bowled with the Knights of Columbus league as well. Donald was an outdoorsman; he spent most of his life hunting and fishing. He passed his love of those things down to his sons and had them in the woods before they could even walk. Many stories shared throughout the years were those of rabbit and bird hunting, time on the river fishing, ice fishing when the water froze and there was never a shortage of deer hunting stories with family and friends. He loved to be outside fixing things or just tinkering in his garage. When he wasn’t outside he enjoyed watching Hunting shows, Hockey and the World Series. In recent years he looked forward to early morning coffee visits with some of his closest friends. Donald was united in marriage to Betty Bowen (survived) in 1966, together the couple had 3 sons. The marriage ended in divorce in 1984; however they remained friends through the years. In 1988 he married Bonnie Tuper, she survives, and he became the stepfather to her 3 children. This December Donald and Bonnie would have celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary. Along with his wife, he is survived by 2 sons John Beaudin (and companion Kellie Offenheiser) of Arvada Co., David (and his wife Shannon) Beaudin of Westville NY. 2 Step sons James Wilson (and companion Tracy Leroux) of Ft. Covington NY, Adam Wilson (and partner Jerry Bridgett) of Va. and a step daughter, Christina Brady (and fiancé Justin Chapman) of Westville NY. One brother, Steven Beaudin and wife Sandy of Co. and one sister Pauline Patenaude of Madrid. 4 Grandchildren, Nichole Beaudin-Boehm (husband Bryan) of Lakewood Co. Jenarae Beaudin (companion Tyler Smiddy) of Plattsburgh NY, Tanner Beaudin-Binion (husband Brett) of Saranac Lake NY and Breanna Wilson of Layton Utah along with several nieces, nephews and close friends. Donald was predeceased by his parents John Paul Beaudin and Ethel Smith, a son Don in infancy, a brother; Roger Beaudin, a sister; Shirley Legault, brother in law; Raymond Patenaude and his mother in law; Patricia Tuper. Donations in Donald’s name can be made to the Fort Covington Volunteer Fire Department. Calling Hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Cappiello-McKenzie & Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington. A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Bombay, N.Y.
