Obituary of Larry Whitney, Sr.

Larry S. Whitney, Sr., 75, of Malone, N.Y., passed away on December 8, 2022 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vt. With his loving family at his side. Born on September 5, 1947, he was the son of the late Leon and Ruth Lord Whitney. He graduated from Saranac Central School, and served in the United States Army from 1965-1968. He worked as a truck driver for both A & M Beverages and Monnette Distributers in Malone. He was wed to Mary Woods. She predeceased him on September 7, 1983. He would also be predeceased by his parents, two sons; Larry Whitney, Jr. and Leon Whitney, two brothers; Ralph and Howard Whitney, and three sisters; June Powers, Alice LaTour and Clara Whitney. Survivors include his daughters; Lisa Barney and his son-in-law Shawn Barney, Nicole (Estaban Garfio) Lamb, a daughter-in-law; Jessie Whitney, brothers; James, Malcom and Robert Whitney, a sister; Bonnie Trombley, grand daughter; Kaylee Barney and her fiancé Shawn Bouvia, and a grand son; Isaias Michael Garfio, a great grand-daughter; Brynnleigh Bouvia, and his long time friend Sheila Lamb, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 10 am-1 pm at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. Burial will follow at St. John Bosco Cemetery.
