Dotty was my field hockey coach, mentor, teacher, and role model. I played for her from 1994-1998 and coached in 99 along side her as a grad student. I had the honor of being her last class of athletes and captain of her team before she retired. Dotty was a legend, a class act, a fierce competitor, and a kind soul. I can still hear her laugh and see her smile. She made SLU home for me, along with Dr. Hall. who was also my education professor. I've been teaching high school for 24 years and coached as well. I would not be the person I am today without Dotty and Dr. Hall. Dotty was a champion of equality and she made us all feel that way on the field. "She who has the will cannot be beaten"!!! Love you Dotty forever, rest in peace!
