Obituary of Leon Monica

Leon Monica, 74, of Malone, N.Y., passed away on July 23, 2023 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, N.Y. Born May 24, 1949 in Malone, he was the son of the late Chester and Marion Marlowe Monica. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Army, serving from 1966-1969. He is survived by a niece Angie Willett, and two nephews; Jeremy Monica and Christopher Fontaine. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Frederick Monica and sister Dianne Fontaine. He loved hunting and fishing and playing pool. A calling hour will be held at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, August 4th, followed by a graveside prayer service at St. John Bosco Cemetery in Malone.
