Obituary of Richard C. Traynor

~Richard C. “Dick” Traynor, 82, of Malone, NY., passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, July 19, 2017, at his home.
   Born in Brushton, NY., February 7, 1935, he was the son of the late Carl and Florence Peck Traynor. He graduated from Brushton High School, in 1954.
   On May 8, 1971, he was united in marriage to the former Sheila Primeau, at Notre Dame Church, in Malone, NY. She survives.
   Dick was a master carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a designer for Wood Mode Kitchens for many years. He also owned and operated Traynor’s Custom Kitchens.
   He was a communicant of St. Andre Bessette Parish at Notre Dame Church, in Malone, NY. His proudest moments were spent with his grandchildren, watching their sporting events, helping with school projects and giving them rides on his tractor.
   Along with his wife Sheila, he is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Pamela and David Merrick of Malone, NY., and Lisa and Aaron Kofira of Rochester, NY., one sister, Janet Pike of Potsdam, NY., five grandchildren, Victoria, Gabrielle and Alexandra Merrick of Malone, NY. and Ethan and Luke Kofira of Rochester, NY., and several nieces and nephews.
   Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Michael, Bernard, James and Harold Traynor and one sister, Carol Traynor.
   Calling hours will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, in Malone. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone.
   Donations may be made in his memory to the Endowment Fund for Catholic Education at Holy Family School, in Malone, NY.
