Irene F. McKee, 81 of Burke, died Sunday afternoon August 13, 2023 at CVPH in Plattsburgh. Born in Malone March 8, 1941, she was the daughter of Bert and Anna Lawrence, who both predeceased her. She graduated from high school in Chateaugay NY and worked as a bookkeeper at the Grand Union . On October 26, 1963, she married Thomas P. McKee at St. George’s Church in Burke. The Rev. R. Reiter presided. Her beloved husband predeceased her in 2010. She was a communicant at St. Patrick’s Church in Chateaugay and was an active member of the Burke Adult Center. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Carol Bell and Linda Lawrence (at birth), her brothers, Gerald Lawrence and Frank Lawrence. Surviving are her brother in law Arnold Bell of Burke, sisters in law Sharon Lawrence of Constable, Cheryl Lawrence of Burke, brothers Wayne (Kim) Lawrence of Malone, Ronald (Laura Beth) Lawrence of Knoxville, TN and a sister Donna (Hal) Lamica of Burke. Three godchildren, Tammy Bell-Martin, Angela Daoust and Candy Albrecht and by many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Holly. There will be no calling hours per Irene’s request. A funeral will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Chateaugay on Wednesday August 16th at 11am with a Celebration of Life immediately following at the Burke Fire Station. Memorials may be made to the Burke Fire Department and/or the Burke Adult Center. Arrangements are through Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service of Malone.
