Obituary of Elliott Cameron

Elliott Cameron, 73, of Malone, NY and a part-time resident of Pinellas Park, Fl, died Saturday, August 12, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side.
Mr. Cameron was born on April 17,1950 to Fannie Mae Coleman and Ambrose Cameron II on the south side of Chicago, Ill.
In 1975, Mr. Cameron joined the United States Army as an Ammunition Specialist. By the time he was honorably discharged in 1991, he was a decorated soldier with many badges and honors.
During his stint in the Army, he met and married Dianne L. Tucker on January 16, 1981. Before the dissolution of this union, they had four beautiful children together: Melissa Rose, Sheri Kay, Cheresa Renea, and Elliott Richard.
On January 14, 2006, Mr. Cameron married his love, Marsha F. Drew. He became a father figure to her beloved children: Kristin, Jeremy, Matthew, Jonathan, and Stephanie.
After retiring from the Army, Mr. Cameron went back to school, earning associates, bachelors, and master’s degrees from North Country Community College and SUNY Potsdam. He first began studying law, but later changed his major to education. In the classroom, he flourished, touching the lives and hearts of many students.
Mr. Cameron will be remembered for his love of music and playing the drums; TV watching, especially during football season; his sense of humor; and his fine taste in suits and Stacy Adams shoes.
Mr. Cameron is survived by his children from his previous marriage: Melissa (Howie) Lamica of Malone, NY, Cheresa (David) Hooper of Tucson, AZ, and Elliott R. Cameron of San Diego, CA; the children he shared with his wife, Marsha: Kristin Cadoret of East Providence, RI; Jeremy Drew of Brushton, NY; Matthew (Janna) Drew of North Providence, RI; Jonathan (Natasha) Drew of Malone, NY; and Stephanie Drew of Brushton, NY; and siblings Elaine Cameron of Washington, Micheal Cameron of Illinois, and Lisa Duke of Wisconsin. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a great grandchild.
Mr. Cameron was preceded in death by his wife Marsha, infant daughter Sheri, brothers Alvin "Butch" Cameron and Ambrose "Pete" Cameron III, and his parents Fannie and Ambrose.
Calling hours are Thursday, August 24 from 10 am to 12 pm at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home. A burial with military honors will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone.
