Gerald A. Leger, 72, of Malta, N.Y., passed away on August 18, 2023 at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Born on January 25, 1950 in Fort Covington, N.Y., he was the son of the late Albert and Bertha Vincellette Leger.
Gerald attended Salmon River Central School and Willow Park High School in Illinois. He would go on to receive three Master Degree’s and certifications of Advance Studies in School Administration. He was the House Principle at Maple Ave. School and retired as Middle School principal at Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
He was a member of the Patriot Guard Region #4 Riders Motorcycle Club, was a life member of the Halfmoon American Legion and was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers and Administrators Association. He enjoyed spending his winters in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
He loved riding his Harley, roller blading, kayaking, golf and skiing.
He is survived by a brother; Leonard (Jen) Leger of Pittsford, N.Y., and his nieces and nephews: Laurie McCarthy, Susan Jock, Karen Lanthier, Julie Burgoyne, Paul Thebert, Scott Leger, Brenda Van Gundy and Thomas Leger.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Roger & Mary Leger, a sister and brother-in-law Helen & Herman Thebert, and nieces Heather Thebert and Holly Leger Asposto.
An hour of visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5 from 11am-noon at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone, N.Y. Burial will follow at Old St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Covington, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patriot Guard Riders or Folds of Honor Foundation.
