Obituary of Patricia G. Poirier

Patricia G. Poirier, 82, of Burke, N.Y., passed away on December 17, 2023, at UVM Health Network: Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y., with her loving family by her side.
Born on March 17, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Lydia Perry King. She graduated high school and on November 25, 1961, was united in marriage to the late Roger C. Poirier at St. George’s Church in Burke with the Rev. Rieter officiating. She owned and operated a dairy farm in Burke with her husband for over thirty-two years.
She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Constable, N.Y. She was also a past member of the Malone Ladies of the Moose. She loved to bake, bowl, decorate for Christmas, do crossword puzzles, go for rides in the rain and to see Christmas decorations, watch game shows, and Hallmark and Lifetime movies, and loved to be with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons: David (Carmin) Poirier and Steven (Carolyn) Poirier all of Burke, her daughters: Gail (Scott) Proulx of Hastings N.Y. and Michelle Poirier and her companion Mark Dietz, Jr. of Burke, her brothers Kenneth (Lila) King of Burke, Gerald (Peggy) King of Ohio, and Carlton (Phylis) King of Bloomingdale, N.Y., fifteen grandchildren: Kayla Jock, Shyanne Planty, Colton Poirier, Eric Grace, Aron Grace, Brittany Dustin, Brianna Poirier, Sabrina Poirier, Alison Poirier, Adara Martinez, Amy Proulx, Alyssa Proulx, Kearstiin Smith, Kourtnee Smith, Kristoffer Smith and Braedyn Dietz, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers: Leonard King, Roy King, Robert King, Francis (Howard) King, Wallace (Pete) King, Richard King, and her sisters Louella King and Evelyn Boileau.
Calling Hours will be held from 4-6p.m. on Thursday, December 21 at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, December 22 at St. Patrick’s Church in Chateaugay, N.Y. Burial will take place in St. Georges Cemetery in Burke.
