Stephen Brockway, 61, of North Bangor, passed away on Friday, May 10th, 2024, suddenly at his home with his brother and aide at his side. Stephen was born in Malone on April 9, 1963, the son of John and Nora (Muehl) Brockway. Stephen attended Franklin Academy and graduated in 1983. He worked at North Star for many years at multiple different job sites and liked working in the community.
In the summertime, Stephen enjoyed sitting outside on the porch, watching the birds and chipmunks. He looked forward to going for walks and riding his bike. Stephen adored camping with his family and attending family events. He liked to watch TV, listen to music, and take lots of pictures. Stephen always liked to play cards, make beaded jewelry, partake in craft projects, and go on outings with his friends.
Stephen was always happy, caring, loving and thoughtful. He had an infectious smile and greeted everyone with a hug and a tap on the back.
Stephen is survived by his mother Nora Brockway, his three brothers: Peter Brockway and his companion Heidi, Stanley (Lisa) Brockway and Patrick (Patti) Brockway, all of North Bangor. He is also survived by his three nieces: Marissa (Peter) Taylor, Brianna (Jacob) Jacques, Johanne Brockway, and a great niece Willow Jacques, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Stephen was predeceased by his father John Brockway and all 14 of his father’s siblings. He is also predeceased by his aunt and uncles: Odelia and Philip Leroux and James Muehl and his cousin Martin Leroux.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 17 from 4-7 p.m. at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at noon on Saturday, May 18 at St. Augustine’s Church in North Bangor, followed by burial in St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
Donations in Stephen’s name may be made to the Bangor Volunteer Fire Dept. or St. Augustine’s Church of North Bangor.
