Joan M. Geppinger, 79, of Malone, N.Y., passed away on May 14, 2024 at U.V.M. Health Network; Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y. with her family by her side. Born on June 23, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Philena (Hence) Perry. Joan graduated from high school and worked in the banking industry her whole career, both as a teller and a supervisor. On September 13, 1980, she was wed to the late Thomas Geppinger at his parents’ home. She is survived by her daughters; Stephanie Benware of Malone, and Lisa (Rebekah) Geppinger of Churubusco, her brother: Gary (Ursula) Perry of Rome, N.Y., three grandchildren: David Hughes, Meagan Hughes and Scott Benware, as well as three great grandchildren: Kaiden Hughes, Ayviah Hughes and Ellianna Hughes, sisters-in-law: Mary Perry and Denise Perry, along with many nieces, and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Scott Barton and brothers Lawrence, Robert, Alan and Frank Perry. Joan loved bowling, going to the casino and Bingo. Visitation will take place on Monday, May 20 from 6-8p.m. at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home. Donations in her memory may be made to the Bangor Animal Shelter.
