Shirley R. Boyea, 87, of Malone, N.Y., passed away on November 10, 2024, at the North Country Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Massena.
Born on December 5, 1936, to the late John and Hattie (Hill) Perry. Shirley graduated high school and spent thirty two years working at Franklin Academy in Malone in the cafeteria. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Andre Bessette Parish, a past member of the Kings & Queens Bowling League, loved going to Florida, spending several winters there. She also enjoyed playing cards and taking trips.
She was married to Kenneth Lamitie, who predeceased her, and on February 19, 1972, was wed to Roland Boyea Sr., who also predeceased her.
She was also predeceased by her brothers; Harrison, Allen, Jim, Floyd, Ronnie and Carl Perry, and a sister Phyllis Nichols.
She is survived by her sons; Rickey (Deidre) Lamitie of Colorado & Florida, and Scott (Brenda) Lamitie of Texas, her daughter; Brenda (David) Clark of Texas, a sister; Betty Fassett of Whippleville, her grandchildren; Jessica Maloy, Natalie Hamill, Danielle Richmond, Alex Bartram, Jessie Lamitie, as well as several great grandchildren and her close companion Wesley Reynolds, Sr.
Calling Hours will take place on Wednesday, November 13 from 4 to 6p.m. at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Notre Dame Church in Malone on Thursday, November 14 at noon. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
