Please share a memory of Roger to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Malone, NY - Roger Preve, age 73, of North Bangor, NY passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer.
Roger was born on January 8, 1951, in Concord, NH, the son of Alfred and Barbara (Towle) Preve.
Roger was united in marriage to Julia Rohach on November 30, 1974, in Webster, NH. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Roger is survived by his wife Julia (Lu), his five children; Tim Preve, Travis Preve (Rui), Thayne Preve (Tiffany), Tennille Lane (Casey), and Tory Preve (Sara). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brothers; Arthur (Debbie) and John, his sister; Donna Johnson, sister-in-law; Diana Preve, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his beloved dog, Reese. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Larry, and a nephew Jeremy.
Roger served the Lord his entire life. He was associated with several churches in the area and for the past 23 years was pastor of the First Baptist Church of Malone.
Roger was always available to help anyone who needed help, no matter the circumstance. Because he was a lifelong farmer, he had the gift of nurturing. It was the broken ones who touched his heart, and he tried to instill in them that they needed Christ as their Savior in order to cope with their lives.
Family was important to Roger. It was a common occurrence to have meals at the farm with 20-30 gathered around the table. Then each year on New Year’s Day, there was the family tradition for as many as possible to gather and Roger would start this event with reading of the Bible’s Christmas Story found in Luke Chapter 2.
Donations in his memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 486, Malone, NY 12953.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Cooks Corners Church from 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. with the funeral immediately following. There will be a luncheon at the Quality-of-Life building after the service for all who would like to attend.
