Dorothy M. Robert, 91, of Malone, NY., passed away peacefully Friday night, March 24, 2017, at The Alice Center, in Malone, NY., with her loving family by her side. She had been a resident there since June 23, 2015.
Born in Massena, NY., October 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Rachel Tuper Trumble. She graduated from Brushton High School.
On November 22, 1952, she was united in marriage to Eli “Whitey” Robert in Liverpool, NY. He predeceased her on September 27, 2016.
Dorothy was a waitress at Kingsley’s Restaurant in Malone, for many years. Along with her husband, they operated the concession stand at the Malone Golf and Country Club for more than thirteen years. She retired in 1988.
She was a communicant of St. Andre Bessette Parish, at Notre Dame Church, in Malone, NY. She served as an election inspector for the Franklin County Board of Elections for many years. She was also a long time volunteer for Holy Family School Bingo. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening with her husband, and was an excellent cook and baker.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters in law, James Carbino of Schuylerville, NY., John and Jeanine Carbino of Livermore, CA., Douglas and Debbie Robert of Valencia, CA., and Larry and Claire Robert of Malone, NY., four daughters and three sons in law, Sandra and Paul Bruno of Woburn, MA., Diane and Gregory Light of Plattsburgh, NY., Renee Hallock of Latham, NY., and Lynn and Michael DeBarr of Nassau, NY., nineteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son in law, Peter Hallock, one daughter in law, Mary Carbino, two brothers, Kenneth and Raymond Trumble, three sisters, Arlene Samphier, Helen Hammond and Lillian Adams, one grandson, Paul Carbino and one granddaughter, Laurie Hammond.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m., at Notre Dame Church, in Malone, NY. Spring Burial will be on Wednesday April 26, 2017, at 9 a.m., at Notre Dame Cemetery, in Malone, NY.
