Sometimes we are fortunate enough to have had a special person in our lives about whom we can say, "She helped me become the person I am today." One of those special people is Miss Boulais. She fostered and nurtured in me a lifelong love of languages, and I also became a French teacher. During the first few weeks of teaching, the department chairman came to observe my class. At the end of class he said, "You must have had a very good high school teacher." I assured him that I did. Miss Boulais was also incredibly kind. Due to a scheduling conflict I could not take Latin IV. She let me take it as an independent study and would meet with me during her free time to teach the material. As any teacher knows, she could have used that time much differently than teaching me Ovid and Cicero! There were many other acts of kindness; she truly was a role model in many ways. I send my very sincere condolences to my dear friend, Evelyn, and all of your family. Deanna Holden Lammes
