Obituary of Patrick S. Murtagh III
~Patrick S. Murtagh, III, age 46, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, August 27, 2017, while at his camp on Lake Titus.
Born in Plattsburgh, NY., on November 17, 1970, he was the son of the late Gregory A. and Kathryn Lee Badger Murtagh. He was a 1989 graduate of Franklin Academy in Malone and went on to obtain an associates degree in Liberal Arts from NCCC.
On October 9, 2004, he was united in marriage to the former Louise LeBlanc at Notre Dame Church in Malone by Fr. Jean-Yves Fortin - Maj. Cdn Armed Forces.
Patrick was employed as a Connected Device Specialist at Best Buy in Plattsburgh, NY. He was looked upon by his colleagues as an exceptional salesman to each and every customer that came to the store.
He enjoyed collecting military firearms, building and programming computers and was an expert in Linux operating systems. Patrick truly enjoyed his time spent at camp on Lake Titus with his wife Louise and all of their family and friends. He was known by everyone for his wit, his sense of humor and communicative laugh.
He is survived by his wife Louise, his foster sister, Linda Mandizha of Fl., and several extended family members of the Murtagh and Badger families as well as the LeBlanc and Belanger families of Canada through marriage.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and on Saturday morning, September 9, from 9:00-10:45 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church in Malone, NY. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on the Lake Titus Road (Rt. 30S) in Malone on a date to be announced in the Summer of 2018.
